What to do after you receive your Sabretooth Dental Impression Kit.

Making a great impression is very easy and will determine the quality and fitting of your Sabretooth 3D Fangs.  Here are some guidelines for you to get started.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If possible have your dental care professional make this impression for accuracy and get a VITA color prescription.  The quality of the impression means a best fit.

STEP 1: Prep & Supplies

  • LOCK ALL THE DOORS WITH KIDS AND PETS OUTSIDE. They will distract you!

  • Brush and floss to clean your teeth thoroughly.

  • Wash your hands thoroughly before starting.

  • Do not wear gloves while making an impression.

  • Stand in front of a mirror or have a mirror handy.

  • Test fit the empty impression tray in your mouth. Make sure your rear teeth are covered by the back of the tray and that your teeth do not touch the side walls. If the tray does not fit you, contact us at fathersebastiaan@gmail.com and we will send you the correct size quickly.

  • Have your phone handy and use the timer for mixing the putty & loading the tray (45 seconds) and for making the impression (2 ½ minutes).

STEP 2: Putty Mixing & Loading The Tray (30 seconds)

  • Set your phone timer for 30 seconds.

  • Mix the two putties for 30 seconds. The putty should be a solid color, not marbled.

  • Use the remaining 15 seconds to roll the putty into the shape of a slender cigar, about 4.5“ to 5”. Then load the putty into the impression tray and spread it evenly to the side walls of the tray.

STEP 3: Making your impression (4 minutes)

  • Set your phone timer for 4 minutes.

  • Fit the filled tray into your mouth, making sure it is centered. Looking in the mirror will help with centering.

  • Use your fingers to press the tray evenly into your teeth. Make sure your teeth are covered up to your gum line and lightly touch the bottom of the tray. Do not bite down.

  • Use your thumbs to press the impression tray into your rear teeth.

  • Do not move the tray once you have covered your teeth. Continue to hold the tray in place to ensure the tray does not move.

  • Wait 2 ½ minutes before gently removing the tray.

  • Do not remove the impression material from the tray.

STEP 4: Mail Your Impression

  • When finished with your impression please send a picture to fangsmith@sabretooth.com describing the problem and our technicians will perform a visual inspection to determine if you require a new kit.

  • When approved, send the tray filled with the putty material back to SABRETOOTH FANGS 7119 W Sunset Blvd Suite 623 Hollywood CA 90046 USA.

If there are any swirls of the original putty colors, the putty won’t fully set, so it can’t completely capture your impressions. Always be sure to mix thoroughly until you’ve achieved one solid color.

NO! Removed Too Early - The tray needs to remain in your mouth for at least 3.5 minutes. If you take it out too early, your teeth will drag along the putty, distorting the length of your teeth and your gum line.

FIGURE 6: NO WAY! Tray Moved Keep your tray steady when taking impressions. Otherwise, you can create a double imprint of your teeth and gums, or your teeth can scrape along the putty, distorting their actual length and shape. Once you feel the putty on your gums and your teeth have come in light contact with the bottom of the tray, don’t move or adjust the tray. If you need to stabilize the tray, use your thumbs to gently hold the top tray in place.
